emailing data

P

Pam

Good morning all. I am a new user to Access. We have a small business and I
want to email files/folders from home to the office. We run Access 2003 at
the office and 2002 at home. Do I need to run similar versions at both
points? ie both 2003 version or both 2002?
Next question - when I have tried emailing the folder all I get is an htm
file which opens up in internet Explorer saying "Data Access page
notification". I have tried emailing as a file using the tables and the
"pages", and have also tried emailing as files in the "form" option. Have
also tried emailing the whole folder. No success. Sorry I am so ignorant,
need help.

Are you saying you want to make data entry at home, send the file to work,
then open it there, enter data, then send it home for more data entry?

Ed Warren.

Answer to first question: 2002 and 2003 use the same format and each
should be able to "read" the other.
As to the rest, if you are using the Send To from within Access to send
table or query data, you would probably want to send as an Excel .xls in
order to use it in Access. It appears that if you are using Send To
that you are accepting .html in the second pop up in the sending
sequence. You need to select .xls there. I hope this helps. If it
doesn't, let us know.
