Emailing with access

Hello All

I have an A97 db on a network of 4 PCs running windows2k, each with its own
front end with linked tables from a db on the server running windows2k
server.
The db application is essentially a payroll program, and there are ~110
clients from each of whom we receive about 3-5 emails per week (so about
330-550 emails/week in total). We currently use outlook express for
emailing, but I need to establish a means of saving all the emails in a
'client folder' (1 folder for each client) so that they can later be
accessed by any of the 4 users. I know one way of doing this would be to
move from outlook express to outlook, and have 110 rules to move the emails
to the respective outlook folders, but for these to be accessable to the 4
users I then need exchange server (I think!), or similar, and it's all
getting a bit complicated, so I was wondering whether there was a smarter
way to do all this by somehow getting the access db to handle the emails -
storing the emails themselves wherever but also storing shortcuts to the
emails within the db.

If any of this makes any sense to anyone out there I would be very grateful
for any advice, pointers in the right direction etc. - or even just
confirmation (or otherwise!) that this can be done.

Many thanks
Les
