emails not being sent

I have been using Outlook 2003 for years and have over 10,000 of sent and
received emails .
For some reason after about a few hours of emailing this morning i cannot
send some emails . One in particular with a 2 MB letter is stuck . I am
receiving emails .
Nothing has changed in WIndows XP Pro apart from the usual MS update
yesterday .
i have run the Outlook detect and repair program many times and closed my pc
down and opened it up .
I have archieved every file in outlook up to two years ago .
I changed the attchment on the email that is stuck to a pdf and the thing is
still stuck . I am trying to send another email with an attachment and having
the same problems .
I can normally send and receive emails up to 10 MB
Any advice at all ?
Thanks
Steve

When you add the Size column to the view for the Outbox, what is the
size of the stuck item? Might be a lot bigger than the 2MB file that
you attached to it.

To unstick an item in the Outbox:
- Load Outlook.
- Put Outlook in offline mode (File -> Work Offline: enable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe"). This ensures no
plug-ins get loaded when Outlook is loaded. Reloading Outlook in
offline mode means it won't touch the stuck item. If Outlook ever
touches the item, you cannot delete it.
- Delete the stuck item in the Outbox folder.
- Put Outlook in online mode (File -> Work Offline: disable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Reload Outlook.
