Emails to multiple addressees

I am attempting to send an email to multiple addressees (~25 people) and,
after pressing 'Send', the message appears to be sent (no bounce-back and the
message appears in the 'Sent' file), however, none of the recipients actually
received the email.
Is there some box I've checked (or not checked) which prohibits emails being
sent to multiple recipients?

Your server could be blocking them due to the number of recipients. I know
that our server at work trashes those with more than ten recipients.
