Emails with Word Attachments

When I open a Word attachment in Outlook, it always shows in what looks like
a Print mode or something. I have to click Close on the toolbar to return
that Word doc back to the normal Word view.

How can I stop this? Is there a setting somewhere that determines how
Outlook opens Word docs?

Is this Outlook 2003? If you open Word and go to the Tools->Options->View tab and uncheck "allow opening in reading layout" (forget the exact wording) does this do the trick?
