Emails won't merge: OL default, but so is Seamonkey

Hi folks, I have Office 2010 and Windows 7. Last month my email merges
stopped happening.

I think this is because Outlook is not set as the default mail client
everywhere it should be - this may be related to the IE reset
procedure I had to run due to internet connection issues.

I have two mail programs: Outlook 2010 and Seamonkey Mail. I'd like to
uninstall it but I still use it for some newsgroups and the add/remove
programs doesnt' have a customise option.

OL is the default mail client in Outlook Help/Options

Under CP/Default Progs/Set Default, Outlook says "this program has all
its defaults". I've tried clicking on Set this Prog as Default but
nothing happens.

Under CP/Default Progs/Set Default,Seamonkey Mail has none of its
defaults selected.

Under CP/set prog access, there are three radio buttons: Microsoft
Windows, non-MS and Custom. Next to "Email Program" it says "use my
current e-mail program" And "enable acess to OL and SM"

Under Non-MS, next to E-mail program, it says Seamonkey, then enable
access seamonkey and remove access MS Outlook.

Under Custom, I keep trying to set Outlook as the default mail program
but every time I click back in, it's changed itself back to say "use
my current email program".

I'd prefer not to uninstall Seamonkey - is there any other way to set
OL as my default, and make it stick?

Thanks in advance
Jo
