Embed sound file into 2003 PowerPoint Show

I am sending a completed PowerPoint show, via email, to another computer that
does not have the sound file (.mp3) I included. How do I ensure that the
sound file accompanies the show?
Linking the sound file does not seem to work.

Thank you very much for the quick and edifying reply. The information is
not only immediately helpful but should prove useful in addressing future
concerns.

I am attending VJC getting a second degree in Bus. Info. Syst. - something
more marketable than my English Lit. degree from College Park. My focus has
been on more esoteric IT venues, such as, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Cold Fusion, SQL,
JavaScript, et. al. Although I am familiar with MS Office I still have
obvious gaps in my knowledge.
