embedded excel charts in powerpoint 2003 after upgrade from office

Dear All,

I've recently upgraded my office 2000 software to office 2003. I'm in the
process of creating a powerpoint presentation that contains excel charts. I
would like to edit the embedded charts by double clicking on them, but I get
the following error message:error accessing file, network connection may have
been lost. Part of my excel document was done with excel 2000, but the latest
modifications I made to the document are in excel 2003.

Any advice?

All help will be very much appreciated

Hiya, thanks for your post. When I upgraded office, I updated Word, excel,
powerpoint etc, so the server application bit shouldn't be relevant.

Anyway, I did edit and copy worksheet into another book after which I was
able to edit my chart in powerpoint.

Regards,

Alan

This isn't the exact error message you report, but I'd still start here:

Can't edit Org Chart, Graph, Excel (error msg: "server application, source
file, or item can't be found")
