Embedded Excel object in Word

I have an embedded Excel file in a Word document. When I open the file from
Word, I want to be able to do a save-as, but the only option is save-copy-as.
If I select this option, it apparently saves the file, but I don't have a
clue where.
Any ideas?
thanks,

when you open a doc with the object you'll likely have
the options to select how to open the doc. In this
case it sounds like you are opening it as a copy because
the option provided to you for saving is the save copy as
method.

the defaulted location for files can be found under
tools, options and file location.

you can also simply search the hd with the
file name via file explorer.....

it should be noted that the copies you are re-creating
can be disk consuming and create some confusion especially
if there are numerous docs but 1 excel object that they are
linked to.
