Embedded word table expands in PowerPoint 2003

Hi all,

I have a problem with a PowerPoint file that I have got from a customer. The
file contains embedded word tables. I have to change the text in these word
tables. For this I double click on the table, change the text and click
outside the table to close and return to PowerPoint 2003. The problem is:
The table expands and spills over the edges of the slide. I cannot resize
the table.
