Embedding files in the notes field

I have recently been upgraded to Project Professional 2003 per a company
mandate. In my previous version of Project I could embed files and display
the attached files as icons. It seems that this is no longer possible with
2003. Whenever files are attached, they appear only as text boxes and if I
expand them once, they stay forever expanded. This is inconvenient since I
sometimes attach drawing assemblies with 8-10 + .pdf's. My local IT person
has told me that Microsoft is now aware of this issue. Is there any time
frame put on a fix for this? It is a great feature and not having it is
really hurting my personal organization.

Hello Michael,

Did you applied the the Service Pack 1 (SP1) on Project 2003 ?

SP1 does not address any Project issues according to the SP1 description on
this site.

Thanks,

Microsoft don't always describe every problem fixed in an SP, so I would try
it. In the mean time, try using Hyperlinks to your files. This will provide
much smaller .mpp files and better performance.

To add a Hyperlink: Select the task then select Insert Hyperlink or press
Ctrl+K.

Thanks for the Hyperlink suggestion. Unfortunately, I have multiple files
that I need to embed. BTW, SP1 does not address this issue. It has been
installed on my PC.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Mike, Rod, and Gérard,

Sorry to say, SP2 doesn't fix the problem with Adobe files either :-(
(SP2 applied to Project 2003 Professional)
