embedding fonts

A client does not have the ability to install a non Windows font which he
wants to be used in a presentation. The client is running PowerPoint 2000 on
Windows2000.

When I save the presentation (the right fonts for Windows installed and
using PowerPoint 2003 on Windows XP) and embedd fonts 'best for editing by
others' ,what does that mean? 'Best for..' Can it be edited or just a little
and can it be printed or just a bit? (I would like to tell the client on
forehand...)

If they absolutely can't install fonts, then a workaround I've used is to
type the formatted text into a program like Illustrator and then export the
text as a PNG file for the transparency and that way you can insert the text
as a graphic with a transparent background so it will look just like text if
you had typed it in PowerPoint. So while it looks great, it is impossible for
them to edit the text later. If you don't have Illustrator or a similar
program then hopefully someone else will have an idea.

I think 'best for editing' embeds every character of a particular font

other methods of embedding probably only embed the particular characters
that are being used
