Embedding images in Word 2000

Does anyone have an example of embedding an image into Word 2000 using the Word 9.0 object library? I need to pick an arbitrary picture, load it, and then embed it into the document header (or footer) with the ability to set the properties otherwise found in the "Format Picture" dialog
