Embeding Fonts

I have had not success in embedding a true type font into my documents (Word 2000). I follow the Tools>Options>Save route, and the file increases in size, but when I send the document to another machine that does not have the font (Signet Roundhand), they see the "next est thing"

Additionally - I would like to embed a font that I use only in the header. Word does not seem to give me that option

Any quick tips?

Sounds to me like that font requires a license to be used by the other PC.
Have you considered making a graphic of the header instead? That would be
easiest.

Hope this helps!

Hi folks

I too have the above problem, If I embed the fonts and pass it t
someone else it niether displays the font nor prints it... this despit
selecting the options/save/embed used font option.

I thought the whole point of embedding the font is that the documen
becomes truly portable and the end user neither needs a licence nor th
font on their system...

is this correct and if so how do I get it to work.... Word eve
suggests this in its help files (Preserve original appearance fo
viewing or printing- Microsoft Word provides several options fo
creating "portable" documents — that is, documents that always kee
their original appearance no matter which computer or printer you us
to view or print them)..

... Listing 3 options,,font sustitution/embedding and using th
printer metrics option
