.eml file associations

Brian Zachary

Whenever I try to open attachments in Outlook Express 6, it tries to open it
as a .eml file, but then an alert pops up that says:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Folder Option control panel."

I have tried but could not get it to work so I don't know if I did it right.
Could someone please instruct me on where, how and what exactly i need to do
to get this to work? Thank you.

Right-click on the file, then select 'Open with...'. Click 'Select
program from a list', OK. Select 'Outlook Express', and check 'Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file', OK.

If this does not fix the problem, reinstall Internet Explorer, which
will also reinstall Outlook Express.

If you have further questions about Outlook Express, please ask in one
of the Outlook Express newsgroups, such as

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. It did work
associating .eml files with Outlook Express as far as there being no more
error alert, but now when I try to open a file it justs opens up Outlook
Express and it just sits there, so it doesn't actually do anything. I have
tried opening a .eml file with IncrediMail however and it actually opens and
displays the file, so I think I will just try using IncrediMail for awhile.
Thanks again.

Can you drag the EML file into an OE folder?
