Does anyone know what the command would be in Visual Basic to empty the
Clipboard for example when closing a form?

Is it Nora or Sarah?

including emptying it:

API: Copy variables/control contents to memory

With those API functions declared, I believe your call sequence would
be:

If OpenClipboard(0&) <> 0 Then
Call EmptyClipboard
If CloseClipboard = 0 Then
MsgBox "Could not close Clipboard."
End If
End If
