Empty Outlook 2000 .pst files

One of my users got a little gung-ho and decided to tackle archiving his
Exchange 2000 mailbox on his own. He created 4 different .psts with varying
date ranges. The size of the .psts are 77MB, 388MB, 530MB, and 1.2GB. All
of them can be opened without any problems in Outlook 2000 but they are all
empty. If you go to the Folder Size it states 0kb for Folder Size and Total
Size.

Why does it say there is data in the file via Explorer, but when you look
with Outlook it is empty? I've tried ScanPST, and an $1100 repair
utility(demo) - neither of which worked. I've dealt with the horrors of
..psts before but this takes the cake. Please help!
