Emptying Cache on Exchange Server

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I find myself having to empty the cache from my inbox folder every few weeks now. All of a sudden today I couldnt receive new emails and it tells me to empty cache. It worked fine all morning then just stopped this afternoon. It takes 5-6 hours to fully re-load all the emails in my inbox so this is becoming a huge burden. Does anyone know why this would be happening. I'm connected to my company's exchange server.

Thanks

Do you have parental controls turned on?
I had to deactivate that function to ensure good communication between Entourage and the Exchange server.
When parental controls were running my operators were having to clear their cache as you describe.

Are you noticing a specific folder that stops syncing or does everything
stop syncing?

First, make sure your Inbox, Sent Items and other "special" folders have
as few messages in them as possible. Special folders are those with
custom icons, not folder icons. These folders sync more frequently and
you may experience sync problems if they have several thousands of
messages. Do not create sub-folders in these areas. Make new mail
folders outside.

If you continue experiencing problems then I suggest you create a new
Entourage identity by selecting Entourage menu --> Switch Identity...
You will need to re-create your account settings, rules, etc., and allow
time for your Exchange messages to sync again.

Hope this helps!

Run the database utility (hold option key down when you open Entourage) and
verify database and rebuild if necessary.

Another thing to consider is to create a new Identity and start using it.
I've run into some problems that are associated with the identity (its
associated files/database)/

You will need to export/import local mail, contacts, etc from your old
identity.
