Enable text enlarging in Outlook (like Word) by Ctrl+mouse roll

also I love the simple way folks can enlarge text in other Office
applications (Word, Excel & Powerpoint) by holding the Ctrl key and rolling
the wheel on their mouse (if they have one). I'd love it if Outlook also
worked the same way, but it currently doesn't.

Bzzt. False, but thanks for playing.

What do you mean, false? I know you can change fonts and sizes, but
I'm talking about the EASE of doing it in all Office applications but Outlook.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and it changes font size with the scroll wheel just
fine.

Me too - 2003 w/SP2, but I sure can't make it work, whether I read in the
Reading Pane or by opening an email; so I can't help but think you're
dreaming! If you have a suggestion for how to enable it, go ahead.

Until I upgraded from IE6 into IE7, I could change the font size of my
incoming mail (HTML or text) by holding the CTRL key + scrolling as long as I
had previously checked the IE option > accessibility > ignore font sizes
specified in web pages .
I am not able to do it any more, since the upgrade. Any ideas why ?

Beats me, because with Outlook 2003 and IE7, while with HTML messages it
doesn't work, as you say, it still works fine for me for Plain Text and Rich
Text, and the checking or unchecking of the accessibility option you mention
has no effect whatsoever on this behavior.

I know, it beats me too, but with Outlook 2003 and IE6, it worked fine, now
with IE7 it doesnt. Another Microsoft tale ......

Well, you said it didn't work for either HTML or plain text. My tesst show
that's not the case. It does work for both Plain Text and Rich Text.

Well, here are some updated news. I had to restore my notebook to its
original condition because of some driver problem. By doing that, I found
myself with IE6 instead of IE7 and guess what ??? I installed Outlook 2003
and as I told you in previous posts, I am able to modify the font size by
Ctrl+mouse roll or by scrolling in my touchpad. I can do that with text
and/or HTML. So, it is definitely something which IE7 took out of IE6

I'm using Outlook 2003 and IE7 and it works just fine for me.

You are able to increase text size in HTML using 2003 and IE7? I am in the
same situation and I CAN'T do that. Is there an add-in I am missing?

And I had the same experience as Elito - I could increase size in html
before, but cannot since upgrading to IE7.

I too am having trouble resizing text in Outlook 2003. However, since the
shortcut Ctrl+mouse roll doesn't work, how else can I resize text?

Adding my voice to the crowd. I have Vista with OL2007, and CTL+mouse scroll
does not work; I can't find any way to increase the text size in the reading
pane for HTML msgs.
