Encrypt Contacts?

My boss likes to keep sensitive information in his Outlook 2003
contacts. He travels often and uses wireless connections in hotels.
What is the risk involved here? Is there a way to encrypt this
information? Windows XP, fully patched. Exceptions turned OFF in
Windows Firewall when he is on the road. Thanks.
