Encrypted/corrupt file

I have 67 pages of my thesis that has come back, when I try to open it, as
corrup and/or encrypted. I worked with IT people at my school, they were not
able to recover the file. Could someone please help.

I would suggest getting out the backup copy at this time. You did save a
copy in case something happened to the original, right?
