Encryption without Signature in Outlook 2003

For sending an encrypted Mail the only thing i need is the recipient's public
key right? For being able to choose the "encrypt Mail" icon i need the
Security Settings configured. Is it possible to send an encrypted Mail either
without Security Settings configured or Security Settings configured only
with an encryption-key? By default there are several errors reading like
"Digital ID required", "You need to choose a signature certificate" or
"invalid certificate" when trying to send the mail.

best regards!

No, the sender must also have a certificate (private key and public
key). A message is encrypted for both the sender and the recipients.

OK. But in case that separate certificates (one for encryption, one for
signature) are used: isn't it enough that both encryption keys (one for
sender in Options-Security-Settings, one for rcpt in contact) are imported?
It seems that basically also the signature certificate has to be available
(although not used when sending encrypted mails). Is there a way to send
encrypted mails without signature certificate (of sender)?

Offhand, I don't know, but you can use the same certificate for both
purposes (encryption and signing) in Outlook and Outlook Express.
Generate one, using something like Crypteze, and try it.
