End of trial Office 2007 question...

I am writing for a friend who has a new computer with a trail version of
Office 2007. He only uses Word in that program and wants to know when the
trial is over, can he simply just purchase Word from Microsoft to continue
with the work that he is doing or what transpires at that point? He is using
Vista.

Yes, however we strongly advise that he backs up his documents, uninstalls
the trial version, and then reinstall Word.

But will he be given the opportunity from Microsoft just to purchase Word
and not the entire Office program?
Can you tell me where the documents are saved?

You can buy a standalone copy of Word.

If you did not specify a folder when you created Word documents, then more than
likely the created files are saved in "My Documents."
