Endnotes - I can't delete them

Hi,

I am currently working in a document given to me to "tidy
up". The original author of the document put in over 200
endnotes to be able to have the pop-up screen tips
available through the text - the aim was to have on-screen
tips for readers and endnotes were the only way he could
see of doing it.

I want to get rid of them.

I followed the instructions in the on-line Help but all
that did was get rid of the markers in the text. The
endnotes are still present (I can see the marker when I
hover my pointer over the area of the endnote marker).

Advice please - I'm at a loss to what do and I've spent
enough time looking for a solution. I'm using Word2000.

Thanks

Hi Carl,

Ordinarily if you delete the marker it deletes the footnote along with it,
but you're saying that that is not the case? Go to View-->Normal and then
go to View-->Footnotes. Actually, if the option to View-->Footnotes is
greyed out then Word doesn't recognise that there are any footnotes and
we'll need to look at this again. Otherwise, go to View-->Footnotes and let
me know if you can you see them there and delete them out?

HTH,
Katherine
