enforced password lingering from another Access app

I am using a new Access application compiled as an mde.
Another Access application that I was using must have had
security imposed that is now being called whenever i open
the new application.

The password request comes when i launch the new
application directly, but not if i open Access first and
then the new application file.

How do i get rid of the old application's security ?
