English UI on localized version?

I want to have english user interface but at the same time be able to spell
check, grammar, synonyms etc. in my native language. The localized version
does contain english, but i believe that is tools only, not UI. Is this true
or can I set english as the interface language (menues etc.) in my localized
version? If not, my only option would be to purchase the english version
Office and the language pack for my native language, right? Is there an
alternative way to accomplish what I want?

You didn't mention the localized language or version of Office you're using, so there's some guesswork involved :)

If it's Office 2007 then using
Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office=>Microsoft Office Tools
and running the Language Settings tool will have 3 tabs rather than 2 if you have a choice of UI languages to use (assuming that all
of the features have been installed from the Microsoft Office choice in Add/Remove programs in the Windows (XP) control panel).
Otherwise you'd need to either purchase the Office 2007 Multilanguage pack, which includes the English UI, to add to a localized
version or the option you mentioned, English language version plus single language pack, as the English UI isn't sold separately.
