Enter 1 but appears as 0.01

I'm having a problem entering data (numbers) into cells. If I type in
number, say 1, it appears as 0.01. 100 appears as 1, 1000 as 10...an
so on. I've tried going to format then cells, then on the number ta
and clicking on general but that doesn't work.

Perhaps there's a simple solution but I can't seem to find it. Pleas
help

Click Tools > Options > Edit tab
Uncheck "Fixed decimal" > OK
(It's probably checked for 2 d.p.)

Tools/Options/Edit and DEselect "Fixed Decimal Places"
