Enter data base password

I recently copied a file having an .mdb extension to a CD. When I loaded the
CD, I got the following message: "Enter data base password." I have never had
occasion to use the Access application. How do I proceed?

The "One Touch" data base was not pass word protected. "One Touch" is a
glucose meter used for recording blood sugar readings. These are down loaded
to my PC. My intent was to preserve the data in the event of a hard disk
failure.

It may be that the database is set as "read only". If you're trying to
run it from the CD, as others suggested, try copying it to your hard
drive and then changing the attribute from read only. (Many files are
set to read only when copied to a CD, so they remain read only when
copied back to a hard drive, until you change the attribute.)

I can see several possible problems. I suggest you start by copying the
mdb file to a hard drive. The problem is that CD's are read only by design
and that can create a number of problems when trying to access an Access
database.

Do you know if that specific database had a password activated
previously?
