This *doesn't* work well for occasional time entry, but if you're doing
something with the need for numerous, extended time entries, like entering
weekly timecard values, you could try AutoCorrect.
You could *tempororarily* change the entry of a period (decimal), to that of
a colon by going to:
<Tools> <AutoCorrect>,
And in the "Replace" box enter the period, and enter the colon in the "With"
box.
When finished with the project, simply change it back.
