Entering Actual Work in Project Schedule

Hello

We are using PS 2003 and using managed time periods where resources
enter in hours of work done per day. Is there any way that we can
enter in AW hours direct in the project schedule instead of the usual
timesheet update process? When I try to do it you get the out of sync
with timesheets error message and it doesn't let you do it.

Also, we have one person who is responsible for entering the
timesheets for 30 resources (not the best practice but we need real
people names against each of the tasks and for whatever reason these
people don't have access to the internet) and we are trying to find a
way where she doesn't have to login with 30 different user names.

I would appreciate any help or advice that you can give me.

Thank you

Hi Rosa,

If I understand the question correctly, you should be able to enter
the time directly into the project plan. Open the project and select
the Resource Usage view. From there, you will be able to enter the
time for all 30 people without logging into each account.

Hope this helps

Rosa,

With managed time periods all actuals must come from PWA task updates from
the individual resources that are assigned to the task.

If you don't want to have to log in as 30 individual resources, you need to
not assign 30 resources to the task. You can assign just the person
responsible for submitting the time and if you want to still know who the 30
actual resources are on the task, you can use a custom field or the notes
field to document that. Each task to resource relationship will force you
to receive the udpates from the individual resources, there is no way around
that.
