Entering an 80 hr task duration 3 months?

What is the best way to enter an 80hr task that uses one resource and
the work can be done over the next 3 months? We have tried fixed
duration 3 months 80 hours work and the start/end dates shift. This
will be worked on intermittently. We tried to level the task but
nothing looks right. Please advise....

Pat:

1) First establish the task name
2) In the split window view, in the bottom half, set your duration to 3emo
(3 elapsed months) Note: if you want duration in working days, than either
set the duration by entering days or months.
3) Decide whether you want the task duration to shrink if the work gets done
sooner or whether you want it fixed and set the task type to fixed units for
the first choice or fixed duration for the second choice.
4) Select the resource in the Resource Name column in the bottom window and
set your work value to 80 and click OK.
