Entering Costs

Bill

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to manually enter costs against a timeline please.
i.e. £5K Jan 2008, £25K in Mar 2009 etc.

I need to see the accumulated costs for each line of the project and each
month or year.

Regards.
Bill.

What is the nature of these costs? If they are expenses or material
costs, then you can have activities on the Gantt chart which represent them.

If they represent the costs invoked in working to a schedule, you are
best off tracking the hours worked against individual activities on the
plan and then using something like the Task Usage view to see the costs
on a month-by-month basis - you can add accumulated cost as one of the
fields you can view in this view. If you want to see expenditure (and
planned expenditure) then this can be obtained from the project summary
task at the top.

I think that in order to provide a more detailed answer we would need to
know more details of your schedule and exactly what you are trying to
achieve.

Hi Dave,
They are fixed material costs. I have entered them as activities on the Gant
chart as you suggested.

Bill.
