Enterprise Custom Field in Project Center

K

Karl Kill, PMP

I have created a custom enterprise field to display an indicator based on %variance of budget and display it in the Project Center. This works fine except when I go to the Project Center the indicator is not displayed until I open and save each individual project. Is this how it should work?

I read in a previous discussion that you need to publish a project to display an custom field label. Is this similar

Can you create a script to open/save each project without asking all project managers to open their projects

Thanks

Once you have created a custom field in the Enterprise Global, you need to
ask each project manager to open and publish each of their project plans
using Collaborate - Publish - Project Plan. This will "push" the current
values from their project to the Project Center views, including those in
your custom field.

Each time a project manager processes task updates from team members into
their project plans, they will still need to publish the latest changes to
the plan using Collaborate - Publish - Project Plan. If they do not do
this, at some point you will discover that the values in the project plan
and the values in the Project Center are out of sync with one another. Hope
this helps.
