Enterprise Flag1

I have set up an Enterprise Flag field to show a graphical indicator for a
task when it is on the critical path.

IIF([Critical],Yes,No) with graphics set to "Equals > Yes > Red Flag" and
"Equals > No > Green Flag"

This all works fine in the Enterprise GLobal. I have tested it beside the
Critical field and they are the same. If the Critical field says Yes, the
indicator is Red and if the Critical field says No the indicator is Green. If
I change the durations and the Critical changes from yes to no the indicator
cahnges with it correctly. It works exactly the way I want it to. I save the
Enterprise GLobal and close the program.

I then re-open MS Project and open a published project file to see if it
will work when inserted in a project file and it doesn't work. Every task is
No (with a Green Flag) and when I insert the Critical field beside the new
Flag field they do not match the way they do in the Enterprise Global.

Any ideas about what I am not doing correctly?

I finally went in and tried to remove a task from the critical path to see if
it would change and when I did all of the indicators changed to the correct
color. The Flag field is now correctly reporting which tasks are on the
critical path. You just have to make the existing files implement the custom
field by activating it somehow, I guess, but it works now after making a task
change from critical to non-critical.

When you create a new custom enterprise task or project field and then open
an existing project, you need to press the F9 key to recalculate the
project. Your action in removing a task from the critical path caused a
recalculation, which then forced the new field's formula to recalculate as
well. Open each of your projects and press the F9 key and then republish
your project. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the post! I was just on my way back here to find out why after
doing the calculations once, I had to trigger a calculation again today when
I reopened the project and inserted the field again.
