Enterprise Global Edit Error - MSP 2002

Yvonne

When I open a project from MS Project Server 2002 and then insert a new
column in the plan, I receive the following message:

Edits will not be saved.
Any edits made to enterprise global template items are only available during
this session. Make edits in the checked-out enterprise global template to
make them available to all users of this Microsfot Project Server.

All project managers are receiving this message with their projects. Any
suggestions on what I should look for?

The warning message you are seeing indicates that you and your project
managers are making edits to an enterprise View or Table, such as the
Enterprise Entry table or the Enterprise Gantt Chart view. Changes made to
enterprise objects are temporary, and are only permanent if you make them in
the Enterprise Global template. If you make edits to a non-enterprise Table
(such as the Entry table) or a non-enterprise View (such as the Gantt
Chart), you will not see the warning message. Hope this helps.

My original answer stands. Users will get the warning message when they
attempt to make edits to an enterprise View or Table, such as the Enterprise
Entry table or the Enterprise Gantt Chart view. Have you added the Gantt
Chart view or Entry table to your Enterprise Global, by chance?

The PMs are getting this message when they have received a project plan from
the server. They are making changes to non-enterprise views so I still don't
see how they would be getting this message. Would this be related to the
fact that I don't have an Enterprise Entry table in my global organizer?
