Enterprise Global Issues

Hello,

We are running Project Server 2007 with SP2. About a month ago we ran into
the following issue higlighted here,
http://blogs.msdn.com/brismith/arch...updating-the-enterprise-global-after-sp2.aspx.
It mixed up the Views within the client so we installed the following hotfix
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973930) that resolved the mixed up views
issue but now a new problem has started to occur.

Everything works fine opening project plans, saving and publishing. But when
users go to exit out of Project they get the following error:

"Microsoft Office Project has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience"

This error also occurs if we try to "Save as file" a project plan with the
option to Save with "All enterprise custom fields and global items". Save as
file works with the "Only currently loaded enterprise custom fields and
enterprise global items".

I think that the Enterprise Global file is corrupt. Is my only solution to
rebuild the EGlobal file using the following instructions?

Thanks for your help.

I figured out what the issue was, it was a corrupt view in eglobal. I tried
to copy out all of our views to an mpp file and noticed that when I copied a
specific view it would crash project. I deleted the view from eglobal and now
project does not crash after closing the client.

Now I have another issue. When a users goes to create a deliverable that is
linked to a task and clicks "Done" project crashes but the deliverable is
created in the project workspace. When you open the plan again it shows that
there is a deliverable with the following message:

The values for this deliverable differ with those on the server.

This deliverable only exisits on the server. It may have been created from
the SharePoint site directly. Accepting the changes for this deliverable will
add it to the client project.

When we click "Accept Changes from the Server" it adds the deliverable
without any issues.

Thanks,
Armen

I found the corrupt view by opening Enterprise Global and a blank project
file. I then went to Tools - Organizer and choose the Views Tab. Then set the
left side drop-down to "Checked-out Enterprise Global" and the right side to
"Project1" under "Views available in:".

Then I began to click "Copy >>" on each view and moved it to the right. If
project crashes when you click copy then that view is corrupt.

Thanks,
Armen
