Hello

I am trying to change the settings so that the Default Task type in
our schedules is "Fixed Work". I've made the change in the Enterprise
Global - Options - Schedules. The Default Task Type selected is
"Fixed Work" however when we go to a new schedule it defaults to
"Fixed Units". Am I missing something? Does it need to be changed
somewhere else in the system?

I would really appreciate your help.

Yes, you are missing one important fact about the Enterprise Global, which
is that you cannot set Options for everyone in the Enterprise Global.
Instead, think of the Enterprise Global as your organization's "library" of
enterprise custom objects, such as Views, Tables, Filters, Groups, Fields,
Reports, etc. The only Option that you can actually set for everyone in the
Enterprise Global is the default Currency setting. So, concerning the need
to specify Fixed Work as the default Task Type, you will need to make this a
training and performance issue with your PM's. Beyond this, make sure that
you set Fixed Work as the default Task Type in every enterprise project
template in your system. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. Sorry but I'm a bit confused.

Are you saying that every time somebody sets up a project schedule
they need to go to Tools - Options - Schedule tab and then change the
default type in there? and there is no way that I can change this
setting on a global scale to be the default type for everyone?

When you say "Beyond this, make sure that you set Fixed Work as the

template in your system" - where do I do that? We don't have any
project templates that we as an organization have setup for ourselves
we just use the standard one that opens every time we open up Project
and that is why I thought it could be done in the global enterprise.
