enterprise global template change test

Sara

Hi

We use Project Server 2003 and would like to change enterprise calendar
setting.
Is there anyway to test the changes before I make actual changes to make
sure we have no unexpected impact?

Any suggestion and advice would greatly appreciated.

I would always recommend testing any changes in a test/dev environment before
applying them into production.

If you don't have a test/dev environment, make sure you have a backup of the
Ent.Global, make the change and test. This should be done during a quite
period with nobody using the server. If things go pair shaped during
testing, restore the Ent.Global

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your advice.
I will backup the enterprise global but how am I supposed to know if a
project gantt is reflected to the change?

Hi,

You can save to a Baseline you are not using, then compare new scheduled
dates (after updating the calendar) with the baseline.
