Enterprise resource calendars

I'm having difficulty in allocating calendars to enterprise resources other than the standard calendar.

I am able to create new base calendars in the enterprise global template and save them. However when I check out a resource to assign a calendar to them the only calendar I can access is the standard one. And I am informed that my organization has locked down calendars (I am the project administrator and need to unlock calendars if possible)

From within the organizer in the checked-out global template I have tried copying the additional calendars I defined into the checked out enterprise resource but was informed that "Base calendars cannot be added to this project. Check out the enterprise global template to add or edit enterprise base calendars. If the server allows local base calendars, you can copy those calendars between projects but not into the enterprise global template or projects containing checked out enterprise resources.

PLease hel

thanks in advanc

Here is the correct procedure for working with base calendars for resources:

1. Log into Project Server through Project Professional with administrator
permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Global
3. Create one or more base calendars as needed
4. Save and close the Enterprise Global
5. Close Microsoft Project
6. Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional again

Doing steps 5 and 6 allows you to "refresh" the Enterprise Global so that
you now have access to the new base calendars. If you don't do steps 5 and
6, and open the Enterprise Resource Pool, you will not see the new
calendars.

7. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool
8. Check out your desired resources
9. Set the Base Calendar value for each resource

Because of steps 5 and 6, the new calendars should be available for step 9.

10. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool.

Hope this helps.
