Enterprise Resource Custom Outline Fields and Portfolio Analyzer

I am trying to analyze resource requirements by skillset using the portfolio
analyzer. I have created custom enterprise resource outline codes in the
enterprise global (multi-value fields) and assigned these codes to resources
in the resource global. It seems to be fine on the Project Professional side
but when I try to use the Portfolio Analyzer to analyze resource availabliity
by skillset, the codes appear but have no value. Do I have to extend the
portfolio analyzer or is there something else that I need to do to make this
work?

Have the system rebuilt the OLAP cube since you created the enterprise
Resource outline codes and set values for the Enterprise Resource Pool? Let
us know.

Thanks Dale,

The system did rebuild the cube. It is strange. The RBS that I set up
works fine. All of the multi-value fields are available in the portfolio
analyzer fields list. When I move a field such as "programming skills" into
the chart along with "availability" and "work" the chart populates with all
of the data for the organization and pivot table says no value under
programming skills. If I try to deselect "no value" and select a code for
RPG III (for instance) the chart goes blank. I set up the multi-value fields
as follows:

Multivalue Resource Code 20

Level 1 = Programming Skills
Level 2 = RPG III
Level 3 = Low, Medium, High

Note that RPG III is just one of many choices at level two.

I now see your problem. MV outline codes don't work in the Portfolio
Analyzer. This is a limitation of the system. Sorry.
