When I view the ER Pool from either Web Access or Project
Pro 2003, the ER Pool is empty. There are several users
(Windows Authentication) in Project Server but they do
not show up. I am looking in with Admin rights. Any
Ideas? My software versions are as below...
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise
SQL 2000 SP3
Analysis Services 2000 SP3
Project Server 2003
Project Professional 2003

Adding users to Project Web access doesn't make them a resource. There are
two ways to add resources:

1. Open the enterprise resource pool and add the resources in the resulting
view
2. Use the Improt Resources to Enterprise wizared from Tools > Enterprise
Options > Import Enterprise Resources

When I try and add an Enterprise Resource that already
has user access to Project Server, I get an error "Name
or Windows Account Error".

It's very important that all the information you enter for the resource
exactly match the existing user information. Your best strategy is to load
them all into an mpp file and use the Import Wizared which will match the
resources to the user accounts.

Another strategy you might consider is: If you haven't gone to far with the
server build, backup your Enterprise Global, then reset the database using
the backup you made right after installing. Consider it a false start. No
backup? You can use the setupdb.cmd to rerun the database scripts to reset
the database.

Another strategy to consider is to create a Project Server account called
garbage and use the Merge feature in Project Web Access to merge all the
accounts you created into the garbage account. Then go about creating your
resources using either manually or through the Import Wizard.

Sounds like fun... Glad I found out before I got my several HUNDRED users
in....

Ended up using the "garbage account" method. I tried
using the rebuild database method but it broke my
reminder service. So, I restored the database and went
with "Plan B" which worked fine.
