Enterprise Resource Pool Usage View Missing Data

I'm looking for possible reasons why the Resource Usage View for my
Enterprive Resoure Pool does not contain any resource availability
information. When I go to this view from within any project, the
information is displayed. Shouldn't this information also be available in
the resource pool? Any help is appreciated.

Keith -

I believe that the reason the Resource Usage view does not contain any
resource assignment information while in the Enterprise Resource Pool is by
design. The pool works a lot differently in Project 2002 than a shared
resource pool did in Project 2000. Because of this, it is a much more
stable environment, and the Enterprise Resource Pool does not become
corrupted the way it would become corrupted so easily in Project 2000.

As you have discovered, if you want to see resource assignment information
across multiple projects, you need open only one project and apply the
Resource Usage view. Hope this helps.

Dale,

I would love to use the resource usage view as you've suggested. However,
the data shown does not seem to accurately represent the latest information.
For projects that I do not have open the resource's work on that project is
rolled up into one assignment line with the project name shown (the
"project" field shows simply "Published") which I like.

Unfortunately, the data appears to be out of date. Not only is actual work
not shown, but the work that is shown does not match either the PWA
assignment view or the project file itself. If I open the project in
question (someone else's project) and go back to the usage view in my
project all the tasks are expanded and show actual work with correct values.
But as soon as the other project is closed it's back to the wrong numbers
again!

When/how do the values get updated?
Jesse
