Entourage 13.0 Beta and 12.1.7 Update.

Hi everyone,

I've tried some Google searches for this, but couldn't find a page that
specifically addressed the following issues, so perhaps either this
information isn't out there or I'm using the wrong syntax in the search
terms.

I'm testing the Entourage 13.0 beta with a brand new Exchange 2007 Server
that was recently setup. I installed the 13.0 beta over a pre-existing
Office 12.1.7 installation, and noticed that the other Office applications
(Excel, Powerpoint, Word) were downgraded to 12.1.5 after the install.
After installation, the Microsoft Auto-Updater proceeded to "bark" at me
that the 12.1.7 "critical" update needed to be installed. Knowing that this
is beta, I declined - figuring this may be a bug. Anyway, my questions are:

1. Is the downgrade an expected side effect of running the Entourage beta?
2. Should I re-run the 12.1.7 patch after installing?

or....

3. Is there a better place for me to be posting this question? I can't seem
to track down a forum online specifically for the beta. I also can't seem
to find my welcome message from Microsoft for when I downloaded the software
to see if there is a beta specific site/forum for this type of stuff.

I work in IT, and I do understand this is Beta software that may be full of
bugs.

Thanks,

C

Not good. I believe the EWS beta was meant to be for 12.1.5 and not to
be upgraded to 12.1.5.
A new beta will eventually address that I guess :-\

The original EWS beta was built for Office 12.1.5.
2. Should I re-run the 12.1.7 patch after installing?

If you're a member of the beta and have a Connect login to download
files then you should go back and re-read what you need to do. Go to the
Downloads section and look for items released 4/17/2009. Read the items
in red.

The beta has no user forums, unfortunately. While the EWS beta is
public, I'm not sure how much else is public. It really shouldn't be
discussed here.

Hope this helps!

I am a member of the beta group, however, there is no available build from 4/17/09
