I cannot launch Entourage (Office 2004) in Leopard. I get an
application launch failure/ shared library error: <microsoft
entourage><stuffitengineSDKlib><><>

I have removed Stuffit, removed and reinstalled Office 2004, achived
and reinstalled Leopard, and repaired permissions to to avail. Can
anyone suggest a fix or tell me how to retrieve my MS user data?

See #16 and 17 <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/text.html>

Your steps should have fixed the problem. However, how you did the remove
and installs could be incorrect.

Did you use "Remove Office" or did you drag to the trash? Did you apply all
updaters after installing Office 2004?

Did you "Erase & Install" Leopard and then update to 10.5.1?

The file you need to backup is the Microsoft User Data folder. This contains
all of your Entourage data. You don't want your preferences as they could be
corrupt.

FWIW, I had a good working Leopard installed. I had been doing some heavy
beta testing and installing so thought I would start fresh so when
SuperDuper (backup software) was released, I wouldn't have any garbage to
continue my Leopard experience. I used "Erase & Install". I installed my
applications from their CDs. No copying over. The whole thing did nothing
but crash. After futzing around with it for hours, I gave up and went back
to my original install.

In other words things even done correctly can go haywire for no apparent
reason. BTW, installing Leopard from a disk copy is much faster than the
DVD.
