Entourage 2008 Crashes after Start-up

Office 2008 Entourage has been working fine on my notebook till a few days
ago?

Now, after starting Entourage the program will run for about 15 seconds and
then freeze. I will have to do a Force Quite and try again. The same thing
happens every time? I have not loaded any new software or made any changes?

Rebuilt the data base, same problem?
Tried to make new Identity, but Entourage crashes to quickly to make any
switch?
Removed data base to desktop and started Entourage hoping to just download
everything from the server, Entourage locks up before download even starts?
Used the remove office tool and removed Office 08 and then reloaded Office
08, did all the updates, same problem with Entourage, locks up after
starting?
Rebuilt data base again, same problem?

The rest of office seems to be working fine. Other computers are working
fine? Same problem in the office or at home with Entourage?

Is this possibly a corrupted Pref File?

Any help would be great!

Hi Tim!

Copy your Microsoft User Data folder to a different Mac OS X user
account and see if the problem persists. This will help determine if the
problem is with your Database or with your user account.

Locate the "Microsoft User Data" folder in the Documents folder of your
home folder. Copy this folder to /Users/Shared.

Create a new Mac OS X user account under Apple menu --> System
Preferences... --> Accounts. Then switch to that account.

Copy the Microsoft User Data folder in /Users/Shared and copy it to the
Documents folder of your new Mac OS X account.

Launch Entourage and see if the problem continues.

I set up a new account/ID in the System Preference and pulled the date file
over and it locked up after about 5 seconds, same as before. I removed the
date files and restarted the computer. Started Entourage and it naturally
asked for all the account information so entered all account information and
started pulling the mail from the server which is OK with me. Thought it
was going well and then it locked up after about 20 - 30 seconds?

Signed out and went back to original account and pulled the date files out
and set up account again clean from start and again after about 30 seconds
of pulling the mail from the server Entourage locked up again?

Not sure what to try now?

If you're seeing this under a new Mac OS X user account and with a new
identity in Entourage then either Entourage is not the problem or you're
receiving a message from your server that's causing Entourage problems.

What type of account(s) do you have? POP? IMAP? Exchange?

Are you able to log in to your accounts via web browser? If so, look for
any unusual messages such as spam messages or messages with unusually
large attachments.

If you have another Mac with Entourage and can set up your account there
then that will tell you if the problem is with your account or with your
first computer. If it still hangs on another machine then you have a
corrupt message.

Hope this helps!

Just add to the confusion, Entourage worked on Monday at the office?
Tuesday it would not work?

I will look for the items you mentioned on Wednesday!

Thanks,

Tim

I will have access to that computer today and will look for the item
mentioned below. As follow-up to your questions, he is able to access his
mail with Safari, no problem. We are on an Exchange account.
