Entourage 2008: how to change order of mail servers in left panel?

M

Michael Levin

I just upgraded to Entourage 2008. Unlike Entourage 2004, it lists my
Exchange server at the top, and the "On My Computer" below, in the panel on
the left side that indicates my mail folders etc. How do I change the order?

Thanks,

Mike

The default mail account as selected under Tools --> Accounts... is
moved to the top of the list.

If your default account is a POP account then the folders "On My
Computer" will move to the top followed by your IMAP and Exchange
accounts in alphabetical order.

If your default account is IMAP or Exchange then it will move to the
top, followed by the rest of your IMAP and Exchange accounts in
alphabetical order and then your folders "On My Computer".

Hope this helps!

This wasn't the case in Entourage 2004, right? I had my Exchange server as
my default email but I could put "On my computer" on top. That's no longer
possible in 2008, yes?

Yes, Entourage 2008 changed the behavior for Default Account to show on top.
If you want easy access to the folders "On My Computer" you can drag folders
to the Favorites toolbar. You can drag messages from the Exchange folders to
these "favorite" folders in the toolbar if desired.
