Entourage 2008 - how to remove account and start over

T

Terry R.

I have a user on our domain whose Exchange account in Entourage is
hosed. Many different issues. Today the account wouldn't open and the
message was to rebuild the database. She did and now she can't receive
email from that account. OWA working fine.

Do all I need to do is remove the account and recreate it? Or are there
OST files or other items that need to be manually removed? My Google
searches didn't answer my questions.

Thank you,

Terry R.

I would create a new Identity. Under Entourage in the Menu bar select Switch
Identity. In the window that pops up, select New. Enter the Exchange account
in the new Identity and let it sync back up to the server.

Thanks Diane. I'll give that a try next week when I'm onsite.

Diane,

I created a new identity for the user and it appears to be working
correctly now.

Strange thing happened though. I had tested incoming and outgoing prior
to returning the laptop to the user. Shortly after, the user said that
her name in the emails were another user that had logged in using that
laptop! Sure enough, the email address was correct, but somehow
Entourage used the name of another account user. I was able to correct
it in one of the settings dialogs.

Thanks,

Glad things are working again. Thanks for letting us know.

That is strange. If you remember what setting you changed, let us know.
