Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Ever since the first Office 2008 Update i have gotten this annoying message every time I open Entourage:

"Unable to establish a secure connection to mail.bigpond.com because the server name or IP address does not match the name or IP address on the server's certificate. If you continue, the information you view and send will be encrypted, but will not be secure."

This is beyond the joke, reported to Microsoft and its hopeless, I click on the OK and it works fine but why should I have to keep on doing it? Anyway I don't care how but if there is any way at all on removing this message I will be ever so grateful because its bugging the crap out of me and I'm getting close to breaking point.

What has bigpond.com said about this?

SOLUTION:

IN ENTOURAGE 2008:

#1 Tools > Accounts

#2 Right Click your email address and click "Open Account"

#3 in the "Account Settings" tab, click on where it says "Click here for advance receiving options"

#4 Un-tick the box for "This POP server requires a secure connection (SSL). Close Entourage 2008 and reopen and the message should now be gone.

This is the only way to remove the message according to a Microsoft rep.
