Entourage 2008 Web Services

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Just installed Web Services 13.04

I am able to login to my company's Exchange server using my iPhone with the address webmail.companyname.com, it's domain name, my username and password. When I try the auto email setup for Exchange in Entourage, it fails. It sees the Exchange server address which is different than above. If I try entering the above webmail address, it also fails.

Why can I get connected with my iPhone but not Web Services 13.04????

I am extremely frustrated...

Your iPhone is using ActiveSync and Entourage, Web Services Edition, is
using Exchange Web Services. These are two different protocols. Just
because one works that doesn't mean the other will work.

Do you meet the requirements for Entourage for EWS? You must connect to
Exchange 2007, SP1 or later with roll-up 4 or later.

Have you verified with your Exchange administrator that they are
supporting EWS externally?

Thanks Bill,

I forgot to mention that I can also connect to my company's Exchange server via any web browser by visiting webmail.mycompanyname.com

Also, when I connect using a browser and go to the About page, it reports:

Outlook Web Access host address: http://webmail.mycompanyname.com/owa
Outlook Web Access version: 8.1.375.2
Outlook Web Access host name: webmail.mycompanyname.com
Client Access server name: USCHIHC01.MYCOMPANYNAME.PVT
Exchange Client Access server .NET Framework version: 2.0.50727.4200
Client Access server operating system version:

Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2

Client Access server operating system language: en-US

Microsoft Exchange Client Access server version: 8.1.240.0

Client Access server language: en-US
Client Access server time zone: Central Standard Time

Microsoft Exchange Client Access server platform: 64bit

Mailbox server name: USCHIEX01.MYCOMPANYNAME.PVT

Mailbox server Microsoft Exchange version: 8.1.338.0

Other Microsoft Exchange server roles currently installed on the Client Access server: Hub

Transport
Authentication type associated with this Outlook Web Access session: NTLM

Public logon: Yes

Does this give up any clues?

Thanks,

David

You should use http://webmail.mycompanyname.com/ews/exchange.asmx in the exchange server field in Entourage accounts settings.

check if this works.

Sorry, that doesn't work still. I get an error 18597 saying Exchange can't connect. Check your settings. Any other ideas?

These two lines stand out to me.
Outlook Web Access host address: http://webmail.mycompanyname.com/owa

If you're connecting via OWA from outside your company network then I'm
surprised you're not using HTTPS. You may need to verify your SSL
settings in Entourage. Looks like they should be UNchecked. You might
verify this with your Exchange admin.
Authentication type associated with this Outlook Web Access session: NTLM

I think the second line is the issue. I believe it should be "Basic" and
not "NTLM" for EWS connections. Our Exchange admins had to do this for
Blackberry users who were unable to connect and this also fixed our EWS
connections as well. This blog post may be related

Hope this helps!

Thanks Bill - when using a web browser, I do have to use HTTPS. I don't know why it shows up as HTTP: on the Options/About page on my Outlook web mail page.
