Entourage 2008 will not connect to one particular Exchange2007 acc

There appears to be some sort of problem with this one person's Exchange 2007
account at my institution. Entourage will not connect to his Exchange
account. There are no other reports of Exchange 2007 accounts encountering
the same problem.

The following is what I have found thus far regarding the problems with this
one account:

- Entourage will ask for the password to the account. However, once
authenticated, Entourage does nothing. No "incorrect password" error
appears. No mail folders appear. No synchronization of folders takes place.

- If I type in a password I know to be incorrect, I do receive an "incorrect
password" error.

- Once authenticated, if I try to send a message from the same Entourage
account setup, I receive an error stating:
Unexpected data was encountered
Mail could not be sent
Error: -17997

- Using the same problematic account, I can duplicate the problem in
Entourage 2004, Entourage 2008 (regular) and Entourage 2008 (Web Services
Edition).

- Using the same problematic account, I can duplicate the problem on
multiple computers.

- Any other accounts that I setup in Entourage on the same computers appear
to connect to the Exchange 2007 server without issue.

- The same problematic account can be accessed without trouble in Outlook
(in Exchange mode), OWA (Webmail), and Apple Mail.

- The mail server administrator has tried disconnecting and reconnecting the
Mailbox. That did no good.
Further, from the server end, the mailbox settings appear to be correct.

Suggestions?

Thanks – Denis

Has you administrator tried deleting and recreating the account? If
something is wrong with the account itself then this may be your only
easy solution.

Hope this helps!
